The American Automobile Association (AAA) has come under fire for not enforcing a federal law that would have required all dealerships in the United States to be licensed.
The American Automotive Association, the trade group representing the car industry, has not made any policy recommendations for the new law, which is expected to go into effect next month.
But the association’s president, Harold Feld, has called for a national approach to regulating the auto industry.
“We’ve had no choice but to take the position that the safest and most efficient way to regulate is through legislation,” Feld said.
“There is no other way.”
Federal regulations are intended to help automakers reduce the risks associated with unsafe vehicles, but they have been met with resistance from many consumers.AAA, which represents about 4 million dealers, does not issue annual sales data to the media, so it is unclear how many dealers actually sold cars in the first place.
The group’s website says it tracks sales for dealerships across the country.
But it does have data on vehicle prices.
That data is based on the average price of a vehicle across a range of dealerships, and it is based only on the number of cars in each dealer’s inventory, not on the actual sales.
That makes it impossible to compare the actual prices of different dealerships.
For instance, one dealer, which advertises that it has 4,000 vehicles in stock, could have sold as many as 10,000 cars.
It’s unclear how much of that inventory is in fact sold.
To calculate the actual price of the car in a given dealer’s dealership, the AAA uses its Price of Car, a widely used benchmarking tool.
It averages the average selling price for a given model in the dealership’s inventory and subtracts the number that the average buyer would pay for that model, to get the actual cost.
The average price for an A3 sedan at a dealership in California, for example, is $13,000, while a new Toyota Corolla sedan costs $19,800.
That’s because the new model has an MSRP of $23,500.
If a dealership is required to have a dealer’s license, it has to be based on a national registry of licensed dealers.
But a national database is still needed to ensure that all dealers are licensed, and that all vehicles sold in the country are properly licensed.
To comply with the new regulations, the association has created a website, http://www.amsa.org, that will help consumers learn how to apply for a dealer license.
The association has not released its annual sales numbers, but a Reuters review of the company’s filings shows that it sold about 6 million vehicles last year.
But its annual report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday showed that it is now selling a record 7.3 million vehicles, a record that will likely rise in the coming months as more dealerships are required to become licensed.
