I don’t know about you, but I don`t trust the U.S. Congress, especially if the Congress doesn`t want to pass the worst-case scenario scenario for Iran and its nuclear program, as the Obama administration is insisting it will.
But even if the president gets everything he wants, it won`t be enough to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.
And there is no good way to stop it from getting one.
That`s because, while there is good reason to think that the Iran deal is in Iran`s interest, there is also good reason not to believe it, or at least to make the case for its rejection, as I have done.
It is possible to think Iran is not interested in nuclear weapons, but it is not certain that Iran has actually pursued such a program.
In fact, we have no idea what the Iranians are up to.
As a general rule, when we`re trying to understand the world and how it works, we don`trick ourselves with assumptions.
